Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built Libyx because a book I wanted to read didn't exist in my language, and it probably never will. Machine translation of a whole book has been possible for a while now — it just wasn't packaged for readers. So: you drop in an EPUB or a PDF, pick a language, pick a model, and get a proper EPUB back. It runs entirely on your own machine with your own API key. No account, no upload, no subscription — you pay your AI provider directly, and Libyx shows you the estimated cost before anything starts. What took the longest wasn't the translating. It was everything around it: - A glossary pass reads the whole book first, so character names, invented terms and the author's voice stay consistent from chapter one to the end. - A cheap model scores every chapter, and only the weak ones get sent to an expensive model for polish. Same quality, roughly a third less cost. - Batch mode uses the providers' batch APIs for a 50% discount. The app doesn't need to stay open. - 57 target languages, including regional splits that actually matter — Simplified vs Traditional Chinese, Bokmål vs Nynorsk, pt-BR vs pt-PT, Serbian in both scripts.
