Hi PH — I built Vigil because running several coding agents at once turned me into their message bus: copying results from one terminal into another, nudging the one that went quiet, losing track of who was doing what. Vigil is a native Mac terminal (Swift, libghostty rendering) with one idea on top: a manager agent owns the tree. It spawns workers and sub-managers, workers report up as summaries, and the manager stays high-level so its context lasts for long runs instead of rotting. Every node is still the real CLI TUI — Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode can be mixed in one tree — so you can open any worker and take over. What it deliberately does NOT do: no hidden sandbox, no approval gate of its own (permissions stay with each CLI), no model picking on your behalf. Settings are JSON files. Finished sessions keep per-node transcripts for replay and resume. It's free and GPL-3.0 (v0.1.5 shipped today). I'd love to hear where the manager/worker split breaks down for your workflows.
