I'm Will, and I make gaming videos on YouTube. I also say "um" roughly 60 times per video.
Cutting all of that out by hand, plus the dead air, plus the takes where I flubbed a line and started over, was eating three or four hours per video. I was spending more time cleaning up footage than actually making anything. So I built a plugin to do it for me, and that turned into Um Out.
It runs inside Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve (Beta). in your timeline, it cuts the silences, filler words, generates captions, finds highlights/videos in a long VOD, and turns raw footage into vertical shorts. Everything stays editable afterward, so you're never stuck with whatever the AI decided.
The part I care most about is that it's a one time purchase instead of a subscription. You bring your own API key, so your footage runs through your account and you pay actual cost per video. If I disappeared tomorrow, the tool still works.
