Tried it with my daughter’s name and the story actually used her friend’s name from school, which surprised me. It felt personal without being creepy, and I love that it’s just a one-time thing with no subscription.
@dnebhqs "Personal without being creepy" is the line I try to walk, so thank you. A story only ever uses what you typed in yourself, and I never use your stories to train AI. If there's anything you'd want more control over, like keeping certain things out of a story, I'd genuinely like to hear it.
My kid's name and our dog showed up in the story, which got an actual giggle out of him before bed. Quick to load and the no-subscription bit is a relief.
@glayengzelfwle Thank you! No subscription was a hard rule from day one. Bedtime stories are the last place anyone needs another monthly charge, which is why the 3 free stories never expire and the packs are pay-once. And yes, pets tend to steal the show in these stories.
Love the privacy-first approach and the personalization is genuinely sweet. One thing I'd love is the option to save a little library of past stories so my kid can pick favorites to re-read on tougher nights.
@duranyoldze23p Good news, Duran: that's already in the app. Your past stories are kept in your library, so you can go back and re-read the favorites whenever you like. And you're onto something with the tougher nights. A familiar story often does more than a new one, which is exactly why I didn't want them to disappear after one evening.
Love the no-subscription model and the privacy angle, that alone sets it apart. One thing that would make this a nightly habit for us: let me save a few favorite "worlds" like our usual dinosaur setup or space adventure so I can pick them in two taps instead of rebuilding the prompt each time.
@toprakcwek Fair point, Toprak. The people already stick around: your listener's profile keeps the friends and stuffed animals, so that part never needs rebuilding. The world is what you still pick fresh each night. Saving a "usual dinosaur setup" to reuse in two taps isn't in there yet, but it matches what I see at bedtime, where a kid wants the same world for weeks and then drops it overnight. Someone above asked about stories that continue across nights, and I suspect saved worlds are the simpler half of that same wish. Noted.
Made one for my niece using her dog’s name and her favorite color, and the little details it wove in actually made her grin mid-story. Honestly surprised how warm it felt given it was generated in seconds.
@onurzdkj Thanks Onur. Favorite colors and pets are exactly the details I want the stories to pick up, because a kid can smell a generic story with their name pasted in from a mile away. Hope your niece gets many more of them 🌙
Love that you don't train AI on the stories and the no-subscription model is refreshing. One thought though, it would be amazing to have a "series mode" where you can continue a story across multiple nights, building the same characters and plot, instead of starting fresh each time. My daughter would get so attached to recurring characters.

Half of it actually exists already: you set up your listener once, with their friends and stuffed animals, and that cast can come back in every story as long as you select them to do so. What doesn't carry over yet is the plot. Continuing a storyline across nights is tricky to get right, because each episode still has to end somewhere calm enough for sleep, but that's the direction I want to take this. Curious which half matters more to your daughter: the same characters coming back, or one big story that keeps going?
