ReadEase is an AI reading and writing assistant for text that feels hard to start. Paste, type, scan, or import text, then simplify it, summarize it, explain confusing sentences, listen aloud, or rewrite messy writing into something clearer. It is built to make everyday reading and writing feel less overwhelming.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built ReadEase because I kept noticing the same problem: sometimes the hardest part of reading is just getting started.
Long instructions, dense emails, school notices, forms, or messy messages can feel overwhelming before you even begin. ReadEase is designed to make that first step easier.
With ReadEase, you can:
simplify difficult text
summarize long passages
explain confusing sentences
listen to text aloud
rewrite messy writing into clearer messages
scan or import text from everyday sources
The goal is not to replace thinking or writing. It is to make text easier to approach, especially for people who struggle with long reading, ADHD-style focus issues, dyslexia, or just daily text overload.
I’d love to hear your feedback, especially on what kinds of text you find hardest to start reading.

A keyboard shortcut to snap a photo of physical text and have it open straight in the app would save so much time. Right now I think you can import images, but making the whole flow one tap from the home screen would be really nice for menus, book pages, and the like.

@elmas550846 Thanks! ReadEase already supports this through Scan Text — you can take a photo of physical text and open it directly in the app for things like menus, book pages, printed instructions, and handouts.
I agree that a faster Home Screen shortcut / one-tap scan flow would make this even smoother, so we’ll look into improving that.

How does it handle really long documents like full books or research papers, do I have to paste in chunks or can it process a whole file at once?

@zelihadogruyer Right now, ReadEase works best with shorter sections of text, so for very long documents like full books or research papers, you may need to process them in parts.
That said, support for longer text and larger documents is something we’re actively improving, and it should be much stronger in the next version.

A small thing that would help a lot: let me save my past sessions and search through them later. When I use ReadEase to break down long articles, I often want to revisit the simpler version I made days ago but can't find it again.
