CityTour AI creates personalized self guided walking tours based on your interests. Just choose a city, how much time you have, and what you'd like to explore. The app builds a unique route with landmarks, hidden gems, high quality AI generated audio guides, and interactive maps. You can also ask the AI questions during your tour, making every walk feel like your own personal guide.
the LLM-suggests-then-matches-to-OSM pipeline is a smart way to avoid pure hallucinated addresses. curious about the failure case though - what happens when the LLM suggests a place that's genuinely great but permanently closed, moved, or just isn't in OSM at all for that city? does it silently drop it and route around, or does it ever surface a dud stop mid-tour?
@galdayanExactly, that's the trade-off. If a place can't be matched to OpenStreetMap (and, where possible, Wikidata), it's simply excluded.
The LLM first generates and ranks a larger pool of candidate places. The backend then matches them to real-world OSM/Wikidata entities and optimizes the final route from the successfully matched candidates, taking both the LLM ranking and walking distances into account.
That way, you won't end up with stops that don't exist or can't be located. The downside is that an amazing hidden gem that's missing from OpenStreetMap won't make it into the tour.

@micha_helbig - This looks awesome, I'm actually off to visit York, in the UK in a few weeks, and this would be the perfect tool to have in my pocket during the visit, however it looks like as of today, it's not listed. Are you planning on adding more cities in the future?

Just tap "Generate Tour", enter "York", choose your starting point, add your interests, and generate your personalized tour. As part of today's launch, everyone gets one free tour generation. Honestly the concept is really cool, I love being able to pick how much time I have. One thing I'd love is an option to save tours offline before you head out, since roaming in a new city is kind of a nightmare and I'd hate to lose the audio guides mid walk.
