Drown is a proactive audio shield designed for authentic sleep. Instead of playing continuous noise, it stays completely silent by default. Powered by Apple SoundAnalysis and on-device ML, Drown automatically detects disturbances like snoring or sudden traffic, instantly fading in a masking sound to keep you deeply asleep.

Hello Product Hunt,
I built Drown to solve a massive problem with traditional white noise apps and sleep machines: they play noise all night long. It’s counter intuitive to blast continuous static into your ears while trying to naturally rest, just to protect yourself from occasional disturbances like a snoring partner, traffic, or loud neighbors.
Instead of playing constant noise, Drown stays completely silent by default. It runs securely in the background, listening to your room using Apple's SoundAnalysis framework alongside our custom frequency weighted algorithm. When it detects a disturbance (like a door slam or loud snoring), it instantly fades in a protective audio shield to mask the sound and keep you deeply asleep.
Once the room is peaceful again, Drown quietly fades out.
Key Features:
Silent by Default: Zero unnecessary noise. It only blocks when there's an actual disturbance.
Powered by Apple SoundAnalysis: Everything is analyzed locally on your device. No audio is ever recorded, saved, or sent to the cloud.
Smart Shield Modes: Specific on device AI models trained to uniquely identify and mask localized problems like Partner Snoring or 4 AM Cat Meows.
Delay Start: Love falling asleep to a podcast or your own music? Set a 30 minute delay, and Drown will quietly take over guarding your sleep once your media ends.
Drown is for anyone who wants authentic, quiet sleep but needs an invisible shield for unpredictable noises.
I am constantly improving the app based on community feedback. I’d love to know what you think drop a comment below.
