Hey PH,
I collect cards. Pokemon, sports, some MTG. And for years I’ve been doing the same dumb thing: staring at a card under a lamp, squinting at the corners, convincing myself it’s a gem mint 10, shipping it off to PSA, waiting 4 months, and getting back a 7. That’s like $50 in grading fees for a card that’s now worth less than what I paid for it.
So I built ZeroPop.
You scan your card from 4 angles with your phone camera. The app grades it on the spot. Corners, edges, surface, centering. Same categories PSA, BGS, and CGC use. It shows you exactly where the problems are and gives you estimates for all three grading companies, because they each have different standards (BGS centering is way stricter than PSA, for example).
The thing I’m most proud of is the submission calculator. It straight up tells you “here’s the minimum grade you need to break even at this service level” and “here’s your expected profit if it grades at X.” No more gut feeling submissions.
Everything runs on your phone. No uploading your card photos anywhere. The ML models run locally on device.
It also does portfolio tracking with cost basis and P&L, eBay sell tools with live comps, defect mapping so you can see exactly where that corner whitening is, and it’s smart enough to know that a Prizm refractor pattern isn’t surface damage.
Free tier gets you 25 scans a month with full sub-grades. Pro is $9.99/mo for market pricing and portfolio tools. Ultra is $24.99/mo for the multi-standard estimates and ROI calculator.
I built this for collectors who actually want to know before they spend the money. Would love for you to try it and tell me what sucks.
