I’ve been building something I genuinely wanted for myself, and it’s finally out. Burnrate is the macOS menubar app I wish I had when I started working with AI agents (specifically Claude Code). It lets me see, in real time and without breaking context, things like my usage window, API costs, and that dreadful “wait, how much am I using right now?” It’s for anyone who’s tired of switching windows, hunting through dashboards, or typing /stats just to stay oriented. Real-time cost tracking is free forever, with a paid tier for trends and per-project breakdowns. Next up: budget tracking, streaks, OpenAI Codex support, and a bunch of other fun features.
