I’m a recovering "People Pleaser." I realized I spent more time drafting a polite "No" to a coffee invite than I would have spent at the actual meeting. I wanted a tool that takes the emotional labor out of setting boundaries - both for me and others.
What problem was I trying to solve? The social friction of rejection. We live in a world of constant digital requests. NoSlider solves the "blank page syndrome" when you know you want to say no, but don't want to sound like a jerk (unless you really want to).
How did my approach or process evolve while working on this launch? Initially, I thought about a simple "No" generator. But through testing, I realized that context is everything. Sometimes you need to be professional ("Pro"), and sometimes someone has pushed you so far that you need to go full "Bridge Burner". I also pivoted to a micro-payment model ($1 for 10 minutes) because I wanted to keep it affordable for a quick "clearing of the inbox" without a monthly subscription.
