Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Leny, maker of Max.
I've been using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity,...) daily for months, but I was frustrated by constant tab-switching:
- Reading an article → switch to ChatGPT to summarize it
- Found an interesting link → copy URL → paste in Claude → ask about it
- Research in multiple languages → copy text → paste in DeepL
Every AI interaction meant leaving the page, breaking my flow.
That's why I built Max — a Firefox extension that brings AI directly into your browsing, no context switching.
What makes it different:
Most AI extensions are tied to one provider or require cloud accounts. Max gives you full flexibility:
🔍 Search and Ask (Ctrl+Shift+F)
Search any page or ask questions about its content with natural language
📝 Page Summary (Ctrl+Shift+S)
Instant structured summaries with key points, pros/cons, important details
🌐 Translate Page in beta (Ctrl+Shift+T)
Translate entire pages while preserving layout (no Google Translate UI)
🔗 Link Previews
Hover over any link to see AI-generated previews before clicking
💬 Ask about Selection
Select any text and ask questions about it instantly
Two modes:
Cloud Mode: Managed service with free tier (no API key setup)
BYOK Mode: Use your own API keys for full control & privacy
Pricing:
Cloud free tier for light usage
Pro for $2/month (not sure of the final price)
BYOK is free (you pay your provider directly)
Built for people who live in their browser and want AI at their fingertips without breaking focus.
Would love your feedback — especially from power users, researchers, and devs who jump between docs/articles/code all day! 🚀
