Late-night AI companion for lonely eveningsPick an AI friend

When the silence is too loud, but you’re too tired for people. Presence is a tiny late‑night AI companion you open in your browser – no signup, no app.You choose between four simple characters (calm listener, casual chat, supportive mentor, late‑night dreamer) and start talking. It’s not therapy and not “AI girlfriend”, just a quiet, judgment‑free space to vent, reflect, or have a low‑stakes conversation before sleep.

I built Presence because I hit those nights where I felt lonely, but opening a big mental health app or texting someone felt like too much. I just wanted a quiet, low‑pressure place to talk a bit and then go to sleep.A lot of AI companion apps today feel like dating sims, are paywalled, or ask for an account before you even know if you like them. I wanted the opposite: no signup, no downloads, no pushy monetization, no pretending it’s a therapist – just a simple browser page with four gentle personas you can pick from depending on your mood. The process was very iterative: I started with a single character, then realized different evenings need different kinds of presence – sometimes you want to vent, sometimes you just want light conversation or a bit of guidance. That’s how Sam, Riley, Alex and Luna were born. Now I’d love feedback on whether this actually feels comforting at 1 a.m., and what would make it a better companion for those quiet, heavy nights.
