Hey everyone, I built VeloxPortfolio.com as a solo side project—just me and a lot of help from AI coding tools. It started because I kept seeing the same problem: people who've done solid work but struggle to present it. Resumes are stuck in the PDF era. You make one, it sits in a folder, you attach it to emails. That's about it. The idea was simple—what if you could upload that PDF and get a real website out of it. Not a LinkedIn clone, but an actual portfolio you own, with a shareable link. As I built it, a few things became clear: 1. Parsing resumes is harder than it looks. Academic CVs, career changers with non-linear paths, different formats—the AI had to handle all of it. I spent a lot of time on edge cases. 2. Templates matter. Different industries want different vibes. A software engineer's portfolio shouldn't look like a graphic designer's. Now there are 14+ templates, all fully customizable. 3. Career Vision helps connect the dots. Younger students and career changers often have scattered experiences - internships, side projects, different roles - and struggle to see how it all fits together. Career Vision analyzes your background and shows you a clearer picture of where you could be heading. It's easier to present yourself when you can see the thread running through your own work. 4. Job Fit came later. I added it after realizing people weren't just building portfolios, they were likely job hunting. You paste a job posting, and it analyzes it against your resume and shows where you match and where you don't. The goal isn't to help you puff up your resume to fit the role. It's transparent feedback: here's what aligns, here's what doesn't, now you know what to work on. It's a practical tool to organize work you've already done and make it easier to share. This is a solo project, so there most certainly bugs and issues that I haven't caught yet. If something breaks or feels off, please let me know. I genuinely appreciate the feedback. Happy to answer any questions!
