Hey Product Hunt, 👋 James here, founder of JobJot.ai. JobJot started from a frustration I kept seeing over and over again: incredibly capable people spending way too much time on admin instead of doing the work they’re actually paid for. I began my career as a freelance developer, working closely with tradies, contractors, and small business owners. Later, I moved into enterprise consulting and now work as an engineer at Canva, building tools designed to help people work smarter at scale. Despite the difference in size, the problem was always the same: too much paperwork, not enough time. Quotes, invoices, job notes, reports, they all steal hours every week. Most of that work happens after the job, when energy is already gone. So I built JobJot.ai around a simple idea: If you can say it, you shouldn’t have to type it. JobJot lets you speak naturally about a job and turns that into professional quotes, invoices, and reports automatically, designed specifically for tradies, freelancers, and small businesses who just want admin out of the way. The product evolved a lot during the build. What started as “voice-to-text” quickly became “voice-to-outcome”, focusing less on transcripts and more on usable business documents that plug straight into real workflows.
