What's New: Just shipped major improvements to Norte based on feedback from power users managing complex wallets:
Smarter AI assistant - Now pulls full document context instead of keyword matches. Reads across multiple policy sections to catch exclusions and limits.
Redesigned perk tracker - Built for people with redundant benefits (2 Priority Pass memberships, overlapping coverage). Shows what you're actually using vs. paying for.
Better card recommendations - Considers your actual insurance coverage, not just earn rates. Amex Green 3x vs CSR primary coverage, with context.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Jose, solo founder of Norte.
In 2022, U.S. cardholders earned $40B in rewards. $33B went unused.
We're all walking around with wallets full of hidden value: airline credits, rental coverage, purchase protection, extended warranties... but no brain to manage it. So I built one.
I was one of those people. For years, I:
- Signed up for premium cards "for the perks"
- Bought extra rental insurance just in case
- Let receipts live scattered across emails and screenshots
Then last year, I realized I'd paid over $1,000 for coverage I already had — and still wasn't sure what was actually protected. Every answer lived in a different portal, PDF, or 40-page benefits guide.
So six months ago, I started building the brain.
🧠 What Norte does
Norte is a coverage & perks layer that sits on top of cards and policies you already own:
- One wallet view — cards, insurance, receipts in one place
- Benefits & coverage insights — rental, trip delay, extended warranties, lounge access
- Norte Assistant — ask plain questions, get fine-print answers
- Planner — log trips & purchases to reveal gaps
- Proof storage — receipts ready when claims happen
No card linking. No bank access. Just select your cards and let Norte handle the thinking.
👇 Who it's for
- People with 1–10 cards who feel like they could get more out of them
- Travelers who want to stop buying duplicate insurance
- Anyone who's ever thought "I think I'm covered… but I'm not sure"
💛 My ask
If you've ever bought rental coverage "just in case," lost a receipt when you needed it, or wondered which card actually protects your trip — I'd love you to try Norte.
Tell me where it breaks. Tell me what's confusing. Tell me what would make this your everyday wallet brain.
I'll be here all day — ask me anything.
I've been using Norte for a bit now, and as someone who travels a lot, it's been a total game changer. I used to keep buying travel insurance even though my credit card already had me covered, but now I feel way more confident. Plus, the AI chat is pretty awesome since it knows all about specific credit card details.
I haven't used the receipt upload feature much yet, but I think it will be very helpful for large purchases. Is there an option for the app to automatically register credit card purchases? For example, if a purchase exceeds $500, it could appear in my wallet.
@hansel_pahmer really appreciate you as an early user and sharing this with others.
Love hearing Norte helped you stop buying duplicate travel insurance; you are not the only one, and it's a dream for a solo founder to read this from users like you.
You’re hitting on something I noticed: receipts and document storage deliver huge value during claims, but the usage today is still a bit manual — by design. Norte is currently built to be fully “secure by default”: no bank linking, no scraping, no card numbers — everything comes from structured card + insurance data.
But you’re absolutely right about the opportunity. Longer-term (and always optional), Norte could include more proactive intelligence and help with things like:
• notice a high-value purchase
• suggest storing the receipt automatically
• detect trip confirmations
• pre-flag coverage gaps before you travel
All while keeping the same “secure by default” philosophy.
Really appreciate the thoughtful comment... it’s feedback like this that guides what we build next. 🙌

Been following your progress @norteapp super excited to see you launch!! What are some themes you're gonna cover/build around in the near future? I'm sure you've already learned a ton from existing happy users
@thesnappingdog Thanks so much Richard. Teally appreciate you following the journey 🙌 love reading about yours too.
In the near future, I’m focusing on three things users are already asking for:
1) More powerful fine-print understanding. So the assistant can answer edge-case questions with even more accuracy.
2) Better tracking of perks + usage. Many users loved seeing which perks they actually use. I want to surface that even more clearly so people feel the real, ongoing value of their wallet.
3) Smarter alerts + receipt management. So users don’t lose claims or forget benefits... and have everything organized when something goes wrong.
My favorite part so far has been watching early users discover protections and perks they have but never used. That’s the signal I want to keep building around 💛

If i were still living in Singapore (and not in Germany), I would use this everyday to make sure I squeeze every drop of benefit my X, Y, Z cards provide. It was definitely a pain point during my young adult life in Singapore.
This wallet brain is a no-brainer :)
@nickang Thanks so much, Nick. Your journey building is an inspiration for me.
Love that you mentioned Singapore… so many people there juggle multiple cards just to optimise perks! Noticed the same for India... Many more markets I can expand into.
Norte already supports 10+ cards from the German market, and I’m expanding based on user requests. So when you are ready, Norte will be there for you.
Thanks again for the support. Means a lot! 💛
amazing idea because it’s addressing a specific pain point, and helps to capitalize on all the credit card benefits 🙌🚀💪
@norteapp will u be introducing some digital nomad related products in the future as well? 😇
@andreytalalaev actually Norte is expat/nomad aware and will let you know if the benefits of your wallet change with where you leave.
Basically, if you tell Norte you live in the EU but your CCs are from the US, the assistant will use that information when responding to your questions.
We also have a database with annual travel insurances, useful for nomads. You can add it to your wallet, and we can always expand it!
Open to suggestions on how we can make Norte more useful for nomads!
@andreytalalaev Thanks 🙌
Most people already have more protections than they realize… and knowing how they actually work is another story.
When I started Norte, the mission was simple: make coverage visible. But as early users came in, it naturally evolved into something bigger... currently I call it a kind of wallet benefits brain that helps people manage both coverage and perks, and actually use what they already have.
Appreciate the support!
minimalist phone: creating folders
Is it only for the US cardholders?
@busmark_w_nika great question!
I started Norte because I have a premium US credit card. So the database is rich with US cards but also have a decent amount of cards from EU, Brazil, and other regions. Over 150+ cards currently stored on Norte for users to save in their wallet.
The beauty of running the tool through DBs is that anybody can request a card to be added and use the tool.

This is so helpful! I can already see this is gonna save so much! Great job man!
@ansh_deb Really appreciate it!
I built this after a personal pain point so I hope it helps others the way it helped me so far. If you ever want to know what your card REALLY covers, happy to chat. Happy to add more into our database!
