@albert43 Do you plan to make it for Windows?
Rephrase
@tetiana_hryshmanovska Yes, but I would need early adopters to test it. I personally work on a Mac, so unfortunately, I cannot test it properly. Are you interested?
MultiDrive
@albert43 yes, sure, I will. where can I register to be an early tester?
Rephrase
@tetiana_hryshmanovska I have not created a wishlist for it yet, but you can email me at rephrase.contact@gmail.com, and when it's ready, I will send you the Windows version to test, if you are interested. 🙌
can i custom the command + to something else?
Rephrase
@joeasaprap absolutely and prompt too, to personalise how you wish.
@albert43 Sweet! Checking it out!
Rephrase
@joeasaprap thanks let me know what do you think, please!
This is a BYOK model?
Rephrase
@mattbinder i will release byok when i go open source, its on the roadmap start of the next year if i will get interes from the people ;)
@albert43 Wait...so your offer includes credits? What are the monthly limits?
Rephrase
@mattbinder it’s lifetime deal no limits
@albert43 Heads up. Your checkout page is in Sandbox mode.
@mattbinder @albert43 that's awesome to respect the user's privacy!

@steven_recinos Hey, thanks for sharing. That sounds odd. I have installed Comet and Dia, and it worked fine, but it might be that global hotkeys are just conflicting. I was testing, for example, with Shift + Cmd + S and Shift + Cmd + R.
Can you please share, if you have time, one specific case that does not work? Maybe it's a specific website or part of the browser, like the side assistant chat you are trying to edit text in, or any website?
I would gladly debug it, and I'm sorry for the experience :(
Rephrase
@steven_recinos i have made a small update that might help, would be super happy if you can update current version and see if it help! 🙌
@albert43 Hey, I apologize for the month-long delay. When I first tried it, the application was very buggy on certain browsers. I confirmed there were no conflicting hotkey overlaps before writing my initial post. The tool would occasionally work, then other times it just wouldn't, even after I switched to different hotkeys. Since that small update, I revisited the application again, and everything now works perfectly, so I purchased it. It would be great to have some sort of templates or a community page to share different use cases. That's just an idea. I used the tool to fix minor grammar mistakes while writing this message, and I also created a template for translating English to Spanish. Great job! I am excited to see what else you can add or create for future projects. It certainly saves me from constant back and forth.
I neglected to mention in my initial post that I tried it on Dia's homepage and with certain websites such as Lovable. I created a hotkey to improve my prompt. I then tried ChatGPT, but that also did not work. After switching to Comet, it behaved similarly. It would only work correctly on occasion, but now everything is functional!
Congrats on the launch! Love how this solves the exact context-switching tax most of us just accept as normal. What made you choose Cmd + . as the core trigger?
Rephrase
@vik_sh Thank you! You can set any hotkey combinations you want for each text-changing prompt you create, so everything is fully customizable.
I like one of those tools that dissolves into my workflow — in the best way.
That “select → shortcut → result” flow is so intuitive.
Are you considering adding tone presets for different SNS channels?
For people who switch between multiple platforms, it could be really useful.
Rephrase
@hee323 thanks! Beauty is that you can add any preset you like and hotkey too, so you can trully adapt it to your needs.
@albert43 Got it! that’s actually even better than what I think.
I’ll play around with custom presets and see what flow works best for me.
Thank u for quick reply!
What's the business model? I wonder how you sustain a huge userbase after they've run the program long enough to make it spend the amount of credits matching the software value. Is it hosted locally?

@turtletop
Great question. It connects to Google's Gemini Flash (Cloud) because it’s much faster and higher quality than running a heavy local model on your Mac.
On Sustainability (The Math):
The business model works because API costs are plummeting. The cost of intelligence has dropped over 90% in the last year alone. At current rates, a single lifetime purchase comfortably covers years of heavy daily usage for the average user.
On Sustainability (The Philosophy):
Honestly, I am just tired of "Subscription Fatigue." It feels like every new To-Do app wants to charge the same monthly price as Netflix.
That pricing makes sense for big corps with 1,000 employees and fancy offices. But I’m an indie dev. I don't have that overhead. I don't need to squeeze $15/month out of you forever to keep the lights on.
