👋 Hey Product Hunt, Eric here, the founder of 100 Tales 📖 My grandma is amazing, and I wanted to preserve her life stories. I bought her one of those lifebook/memoir services, but honestly, she really struggled with it. It felt like homework—long prompts, endless Q&As, and too much typing. 😩 This made me realize that great stories come alive when someone is actually listening. That’s why we at 100 Tales are introducing Conversational Memoirs. Our AI, Sarah, calls your loved one by phone (no smartphone or email needed 📞), chats with them for about 10-15 minutes, and transforms each call into a polished chapter. Once you have enough chapters, we compile them into a beautiful hardcover book. 📚 It’s been amazing to see how naturally people share when someone is truly listening—it's a total game-changer. ✨ My grandma created her entire book in just three weeks by talking to Sarah during her daily walks. 🚶‍♀️ She had fun, felt heard, and never touched a keyboard. 🤩 Building this has been equally exciting for us. Every day there is a new breakthrough in voice AI—better voices, lower latency, improved personalization—and we can’t wait to keep refining 100 Tales. 🚀 🎉 We just launched a 7-day free trial (no payment info needed) if you want to give it a spin: https://100tales.com/ I’d love to hear what you think, especially if you’re a founder working on similar tech or if you have any feedback on how we can improve. 🙏 Thanks so much for checking us out! Eric from 100 Tales P.S. Here are a few answers to our most commonly asked questions below: Can multiple people create a book together, for example my grandparents? Yes, you can have multiple storytellers, for example an entire family. You can also get creative, and create a tribute book for someone's birthday, with each friend contributing a chapter for example. Do I own the rights to my book? You own the full rights to the books you create using 100 Tales and we do not hold your data hostage. Does 100 Tales work in languages other than English? No, right now we only offer our services in English. We hope to be able to expand our offerings soon. How does the 7-Day Free Trial Work? No credit card is required—just add to cart and complete the checkout, and you'll receive an email giving you instant access to our portal.

@100_tales Congrats on the launch! Very meaningful project. Noticed a few AI biography products coming out these days, curious what are the key differentiations of 100 Tales?

@alanchristophx Thank you so! So right now 99% of the AI biography services follow the same basic flow: start with a prompt or a question, record or type an answer, transcribe the recording, then polish it up with AI. At 100 Tales, we’ve completely reimagined that experience by using a real-time, conversational AI. Instead of just transcribing a single response, Sarah (our AI) engages in an actual back-and-forth interview, adapting her questions in real time and asking follow-ups that dig deeper. This requires more complex, computational heavy tech behind the scenes, but it makes the conversation feel authentic and personal—like someone truly listening on the other end. Our insight is that this is a total game changer for the storyteller (“Stories come alive when someone’s on the other end”). Plus, our service can be done entirely by phone (no smartphone or laptop needed), which is a must for many storytellers. You can set up your own conversations with our service, but we also have pre-made topics like "Early Life" or "Career" etc. We are spending a lot of time right now testing these and how to build out the best prompts for Sarah. The goal is to really make her the best interviewer in the world, adapting to the personality of the storyteller, teasing out the best possible answers. Things like memory and RAG-retrieval, emotions, turn-detection, latency etc. all play a part in this. Hope this answers your question!
