Yapping is a sport now

gm legends, happy Friday.

Today: your AI tools start comparing notes, the engine inside SolidWorks lands on your iPad, and the loudest founders on X finally get ranked. Plus, OpenAI Day is a week out.

Product Hunt 🤝 OpenAI

OpenAI just dropped GPT-5.6, their largest model yet, and it's the first model in a while that has a lot of us opening a different terminal: trying a new harness, moving workflows over, comparing outputs. The labs leapfrogging each other is how everyone building on top ends up with better tools.

So we teamed up with OpenAI to put credits behind it. Build something with Sol, Terra, or Luna, schedule your launch for Thursday, July 23, and the top products walk away with $10k in OpenAI API credits.

If you're going to kick the tires anyway, might as well get paid for it. You've got six days: schedule your launch for July 23.

Your AIs compare notes

Unabyss is a shared memory for your AI tools: connect it once over MCP and Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor all remember the same things about you and your projects. Philip Kubinski's team won #1 product of the day in May, then rebuilt the whole thing to live inside Claude instead of its own app.

🔥 Our Take: Anyone who maintains CLAUDE.md files knows they're frozen the second you write them. One commenter said his rot quietly until something breaks, and that's the actual problem here, not the re-explaining. The hard part is two apps writing conflicting facts about the same project, which is where memory layers usually die, and the team's answer is conflicts get resolved at retrieval, newest wins. Winning #1 in May and then deleting your own app to go live inside Claude is the confident way to take feedback.

CAD left the workstation

PixyCAD is native 3D CAD for Mac and iPad built on the Parasolid kernel: sketch with the Apple Pencil, model real solids, export STEP, STL or 3MF straight to your printer. Andrea Sartori's team built it because pro CAD still assumes you're sitting at a workstation.

🔥 Our Take: Parasolid is the geometry engine inside SolidWorks, so what's under your Pencil is the industrial-grade thing, not a sketch toy. The real fight is Shapr3D, which had native iPad CAD to itself for years and charges a subscription for it. The launch comments already found the sore spot: one commenter called the one-time price delusional for hobbyists. Maybe. The people who've been paying Shapr3D every month will do that math differently.

Loud founders get ranked

College student Nikhil Radosevich built Yapper Leaderboard: a live ranking of startup founders by how much they post on X, with daily ranks, weekly growers, and a YC batch filter so you can see exactly who in your batch is loudest.

🔥 Our Take: Founders already compete on users, revenue, launches, and followers, so as one commenter put it, yapping needed its own ranking too. What sells it is that the board reads true: T3 Chat at number one is exactly where anyone who's opened X this year would put it. Building in public turned posting into part of the job, and now the job has a scoreboard. You will look yourself up, and you will feel something.
