[Name] test email #1
This newsletter was brought to you byWispr FlowThat subject line wasnât a mistake, but points to you if you remember that HBO intern. Weâre talking about smarter A/B testing in todayâs Product Highlight.
But first, some good news.
- Google Maps is getting AI-driven updates. Your move, TikTok.
- UO is selling âvintageâ iPods. đ€·ââïžNeeds the âWhen We Were Youngâ playlist.
- Boston Dynamics turned Spot into a guide with ChatGPT. Alfred in the next Batman?
A UI that changes for its user
Ah, the old A/B test. Itâs been a staple in the back pockets of product people, marketers, and designers for years.
But if AI has its way, the A/B test will soon look as old as a 2013 CD-Rom with Photoshop.
Reinforcement Learning (RL) has entered the chat, and makers can now use it to do real-time personalization. RL is an area of machine learning concerned with decision-making â learning the optimal behavior to obtain the maximum reward, per Synopsys. Applied to tech apps, it can look like each user seeing a UI that is most likely to get them to press âadd to cart," in real-time.
That's the idea behind flowRL. It's a new product that makers can integrate into their products to leverage Reinforcement Learning.
âWe use Reinforcement Learning to predict the best UI Variants (of the ones you set up in code) for each user⊠our model automatically adapts the interface to drive metrics of your choice!â explains maker Alexey Primechaev.
But is it just a bunch of A/B tests happening really fast? Not exactly.
âTraditional A/B testing tools⊠typically estimate which version performs better on *average* for all users. In contrast, flowRL uses Reinforcement Learning to go beyond averages and tailor experiences for each individual,â writes flowRL CEO Fred Kurdov.
Getting into the depths of RL sounds like a better job for our AI newsletter, but the highlight here is that flowRL says it can give products a 2â3Ă target metric uplift.
Are you really still typing?

Full disclosure: Wispr Flow is the AI dictation tool most of us at Product Hunt (use we still have a few holdout typers, what romantics). Hold a key, talk, and clean text drops straight into whatever app you're already in â Slack, email, Notion, your IDE, wherever your cursor lives. No switching windows. No copy-paste ritual. Just say the thing â yes, you can whisper it â and even your most run-on sentences will be turned into polished writing at 4x the speed of typing.
