NASA got that drip

Spacesuits are cool. We all know that. But they can always get cooler.

Prada has partnered with NASA to build spacesuits for the next moon mission in 2025. Don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the Paris Fashion Week reveal.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT

It’s yearbook photo day

If you’ve been scrolling Instagram or TikTok over the weekend, you probably noticed a new trend. It’s a fun twist on nostalgic yearbook photos that uses the power of image-to-image input to transform your selfies into hyperrealistic yearbook photos.

AI photo generators are nothing new. Since AI found its feet and exploded into the mainstream, fantastical photo generations have been one of the main ways that AI has flexed its muscles. Makers like Pieter Levels and Danny Postma have been at the forefront of the indie scene regarding AI photos, and apps like Lensa went viral after celebrities hopped on the bandwagon.

Recently though, the trend has strayed from magical situations to ones more grounded in reality, and that’s where EPIK comes in. At the start of September, it started going viral for its yearbook photo functionality.

People from all corners of the internet, including celebrities, flocked to the app to get a taste of the 90s nostalgia, which quickly drove EPIK’s ranking to number 1 in the App Store.

According to Apptopia, EPIK’s rise wasn’t exactly overnight. The app launched way back in 2021 and since then it’s earned 92.3 million installs. Then the app saw a surge after September 19th driven in large part from social media.

If you want your own photos to show off, it’s pretty simple:

Download the EPIK app, navigate to the ‘Try AI yearbook’ option, pay a small fee, and upload 8-12 selfies. Within moments you get a fresh yearbook album to share across your socials.

It even comes packaged with the grey yearbook backdrop we all know and love (kinda.)

Yearbook photos aren’t the only thing up the EPIK team’s sleeves. You can also instantly remove objects and people from photos, generate collages, change background, and even apply make-up.
