Instagram's new app for watching long-form, vertical videos

IGTV is a new app for watching long-form, vertical video from your favorite Instagram creators, like LaurDIY posting her newest project or King Bach sharing his latest comedy skit. While there’s a stand-alone IGTV app, you’ll also be able to watch from within the Instagram app so the entire community of one billion can use it from the very start.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. For Instagram, that smoke recently came in the form of rumors about it launching a feature to host curated, long-form videos in its app. And well, there's fire, alright. Today, at an event in San Francisco, Instagram made its new video hub official.
The Verge
Instagram today announced IGTV, a standalone app for watching long-form vertical video that will also have a tab inside the flagship app. When you log in to IGTV, it will automatically begin playing vertical videos from people you follow, along with personalized recommendations from elsewhere in Instagram.
TechCrunch
Instagram is ready to compete head on with YouTube. Today at a flashy event in San Francisco, the company is announcing it will begin allowing users to upload videos up to 1 hour in length, up from the previous 1 minute limit. And to house the new longer-form videos from star content creators, Instagram is launching IGTV.

We created Neverthink because we missed the ease of just turning on a TV and wanted to have the same lean-back experience just with the content we love from the Internet.

We hope you love it as much as we do! <3

In Brief Neverthink.TV collects videos from the internet in real time, groups them into channels based on topic, and plays them one after another. This system eliminates the need to hunt for content online and mimics the passive viewing experience of television, combining the best of the past and the present.
TechCrunch
Neverthink might just be the most 'lean back' online video experience yet. The site (and as of today, iOS app) takes content sourced from YouTube, Reddit and elsewhere and re-packages it into non-skippable channels. The result is a TV-like experience that, say its creators, is more "on-demand distraction" than on-demand video.
