Wunderlist was my go-to to-do app for a long time. But it really depends on what you're going to use it for. If it's for a small company, this is a great app. Just for yourself: I would recommend the standard Reminders application by Apple (if you're on iOS/macOS etc by all means).

Accidentally found out about the shutdown of Wunderlist which was announced already half a year ago. Why didn't you inform all current users by mail? Obviously, the shutdown Wunderlist is a big mistake, it will make users consider alternatives and as you know MS To-Do is not even getting close to Wunderlist.
TechCrunch
Microsoft acquired the popular mobile to do list application Wunderlist back in 2015, and now it's preparing users for its eventual demise with the release of its new application "To-Do," announced today. The new app was built by the team behind Wunderlist, and will bring in the favorite elements of that app in the months ahead, Microsoft says.

Microsoft's purchase of Wunderlist creator 6Wunderkinder is official. Today the company published a blog post confirming the deal, which The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday. This is the closest match to Wunderlist that I've found so far. Perhaps a bit over-engineered for my taste and uses a subscription model, but the free version has all the key Wunderlist features: simple task lists, shared lists which update live, mac/web/phone apps. Not bad.

The best to-do list app will always be whatever works for you. One reason for the enduring popularity of pen-and-paper-based methods is that they can map perfectly to your individual needs. Bullet journals, which have surged in popularity in recent years, encourage you to pepper them with your own idiosyncrasies: widgets to track various goals, say, or lists… See more

Remember the Milk is almost perfect, except the subdividing feature that I love so much is only on paying plans and I'm not a big fan of the app name and the interface looking (I'm too rigid I know) but this point is only personal and their work remains simply amazing

RTM's smart add syntax seems better/more reliable than other systems I've tried (and I've tried *a lot* of them). Their new update adds subtasks and start dates, things I am using far more than I thought I would. Can be used with complex GTD systems, or just remembering to buy the milk. =D
