I’m an indie developer building reading and language-learning tools. My current project is eBook-translater, a private reading workspace for EPUB and PDF books. I built it because I believe language should not decide which books we can learn from. I’m interested in local AI, offline-first software, ebook workflows, and tools that help people access knowledge in their own language.

How do you currently read books in languages you are still learning?

I built eBook-translater because I often had EPUB/PDF books I wanted to read, but the language barrier kept breaking the reading flow. I m curious how other readers handle this today:
- Do you use browser translators?
- Do you copy passages into ChatGPT?
- Do you use Kindle/Apple Books dictionaries?
- Do you avoid foreign-language books entirely? I m building around a simple idea: read your books in any language, privately on your Mac. Would love to hear how others solve this.
