I only look at the tagline and if it sounds interesting, I check out the logo, design, website, etc. For PH in particular, I look at the upvote count as well. It is always interesting what other people recognize as upvote-worthy. Also, I'm open to checking out projects that solve a problem I'm not familiar with or I don't have if they otherwise look interesting.
