Why I built a crypto tax MCP server instead of yet another web app

Every tax season I'd spend hours downloading CSVs from 5 different block explorers one for Stacks, one for Celo, one for Base, one for Solana, one for BNB. Then reconcile them manually in a spreadsheet.

The obvious solution would be another web app. But I realized the real problem is that tax data lives on-chain, and AI agents can now access it directly no UI needed.

So I built multichain-tax-mcp: an MCP server that gives Claude and other AI agents native access to crypto tax data across 5 chains. Just ask "what's my 2025 PnL?" and it pulls the data, computes FIFO/LIFO cost basis, and generates a Schedule D report.
