What's a feature you never designed that became one of your main use cases?

I was building a tool to protect admin panels - close them off, give the team access through a gateway with a short token.

Along the way I gave the gateway its own DNS resolver, so it could reach servers with no public DNS record. Purely a side detail.

Their project happened to be a typical WordPress build, but the root cause highlights a much broader issue that applies to almost any tech stack. They were relying on popular "security" modules that simply changed the admin login URL to a custom path a classic case of security by obscurity.
