Hi ! This is Zahid. A Senior Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience in the industry. On regular days, I build backend systems at Optimizely. Outside of that, I like building and shipping things end-to-end. FileCast is one of those projects — it started with a problem I kept running into: needing to convert a file or an image and finding a paywall, a five-file limit, or a “sign up to continue” wall for something that should just work. So I built the tool I wanted — fast, free, and private. FileCast runs conversions directly in your browser whenever possible, so your files never need to leave your device. I’m still adding to it whenever I have a free evening. If there’s a conversion you wish existed, let me know. That’s usually how the next tool gets built.
