Oh man, this is almost everything I need in a monitoring app. Netdata provides excellent insights to my infrastructure with out of the box monitoring defaults that make sense. Data flow is easily controlled, everything sets up quickly and data retention itself is not gated in any way. Netdata is a bit more difficult to set up data scraping against an api endpoint, but out of the box this is what I was looking for.

Great as a hobby project and falls short when it comes to setup and weird bugs. Errors remain non-descript and confusing. For example, the Windows client repeatedly kills itself trying to upgrade its own client -- while the client is in use. Works on Linux, not as straightforward on Windows. Lastly, relay feature being moved to EE breaks existing setups and being forced to use a TURN server rather than specifying a specific server to tunnel traffic removes significant control over how traffic moves -- I believe to be an absolute necessity in a mesh network product.
