I used Anking for a long time (I'm from HK and not from USA), but sometimes it doesn't cover everything that is mentioned in my lectures :( each med school have some slight differences in their syllabus and their way of exams. So when I have lectures on topics or details that are not covered by Anking, I can use pdf2anki to quickly make some cards that I can review. It rlly saves a lot of time...
