How did you choose to be a browser plugin instead of a web application?

I tried Product Hunt, Gmail, Indie Hackers, and Reddit. Only Reddit could be summarized. However, Reddit only summarizes posts and doesn't summarize comments, which is different from what I expected.

I tried this educational software and really liked the card-based design. It would be even better if the initial tutorial had a game-like dialogue feel. The grammar breakdowns are also quite good, but I found myself lacking the patience to continue. Maybe adding some gamified positive feedback would help.
