Beautiful monospace typeface. I really like the pay-what-you-want model, and it has an affordable commercial license as well. The fact that the proceeds are going to charity is even better. π I paid 20 bucks because it looks like I'll get a lot of use out of it (5 weights for 20 is not much at all!).

I get Anekdote's newsletters and each one is beautifully designed. Because they feature products quarterly, it never feels like I'm being bombarded with too many items. Their approach is a breath of fresh air and it seems like they really take pride in the objects they curate and the brands they highlight.

I've been hunting for a Mailbox replacement the last few weeks, and Airmail on the Mac has been the best so far. Really glad to see the release of their iPhone app.

Just started listening. Sounds cool, but the WiFi providers have in Tube stations in London don't work on the trains when they're in motion between stations. You kind of have to try re-connecting every stop and it only lasts like 20 seconds before the train goes again...not sure it's really a threat zone...you'd notice if your phone remained connected and it would be super out of the ordinary....

I'm working on this book for the final project of my design course. Written in 1972 and based on a BBC program of the same name, it was incredibly before its time. The book itself has an iconic cover and layout and has been reissued as a Penguin Modern Classic. A great read for designers looking for inspiration on non-cliche layouts.

Seeing this I had to comment. I LOVED this episode. I went to college at Occidental College (President Obama attended Oxy for 2 years, it's often credited as being where his interest in politics began). So hearing him talk about Pasadena and Eagle Rock and LA and his college days always makes me nostalgic. I remember the 2008 election like it happened this year. I guess that happens when you're...

A little background on this: Pelican Books was a non-fiction imprint of Penguin, really loved here in the UK because of how intellectual but still accessible they were. Looks like they relaunched it last year as a web-based service. Looks really beautiful!
