We built Dealin because we kept hearing the same frustration from Australians existing classifieds platforms are either too expensive, too cluttered, or just not built for local transactions.

A private seller in Brisbane shouldn't be competing with a dealer in Sydney for the same buyer's attention. Local relevance matters especially for cars, where buyers need to inspect, test drive, and pick up in person.

So we built something simpler:

• Motors, Jobs, Property, Services and Marketplace all in one place

• Free for individuals no listing fees for private sellers

• Flat fee for agents and dealers no success fees, ever

• Local-first listings surface to buyers in your city, not across the country

This is exactly the kind of honest breakdown the PH community needs more of. We're going through a similar phase right now with Dealin an Australian classifieds platform focused on local transactions for cars, jobs, property, and services.

What's worked for us so far is hyper-local targeting. Instead of trying to compete nationally from day one, we focused on specific cities like Perth and Canberra first. The quality of listings improved because sellers actually knew their buyers were nearby.

One thing we're still figuring out converting browsers into active listers. Would love to know how you handled that early trust gap where buyers exist but sellers are hesitant to post.
