What's great
We use Wati for our operations team. It helped us manage WhatsApp at scale without too much complexity.
Shared inbox works well and makes team coordination easier.
Automation and basic workflows save time for daily ops.
Good alternative to WhatsApp Business when the team starts growing.
What needs improvement
Template approvals are confusing. Many templates get marked as marketing without clear reason.
No clear judgement or feedback on why templates are rejected.
Templates cannot be edited once created, which is painful.
24 hour window rules and WhatsApp limitations still make things restrictive.
Overall, good product, but some flexibility and clarity would make it much better.
vs Alternatives
We mainly compared it with WhatsApp Business.
WhatsApp Business was not enough once our team started growing. No proper shared inbox or automation.
Wati made it easier to manage multiple agents, workflows and basic template/automation setups in one place.
How easy is the no-code chatbot builder to use?
It is fairly easy to use for basic flows.
Non technical users can set up simple bots and automations without much help, the docs help bot helps a lot when stuck.
For advanced logic it can get a bit limiting, but for normal ops use it works fine.
Can we connect Google Sheets for imports and updates?
Yes, basic imports are possible using CSV / Sheets style workflows.
For more complex sync or real time updates, API or external automation tools are needed - like we do for our CRM Airtable.
Works fine for simple use cases.
What API endpoints exist for custom workflows?
We use the API to send messages directly from our CRM by passing variables as payloads.
We also use webhooks to fetch chat JSON data and push it into our CRM.
API is useful for custom workflows if you have a dev / ops team.
