About
My goals: enjoy, think, create. I’ve been a programmer for over 30 years. Yes, 30 years. I know, it’s hard to believe. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Business Administration, Decision Science. I’ve worked in Silicon Valley my entire career, so I’ve been able to work at companies like NEC, System Industries, IBM, Convergent, Litton Integrated Automation, Sun Microsystems, PAC Bell, Silicon Graphics, Intuit, Hitachi, and Yahoo, to name just a few. I was involved in a successful optical switch startup, Lightera, that was sold to Ciena Corporation. I’ve taught database courses at UCSC and Perl programming for Sun. For a decade, I ran a blog called HighScalability, which covered the cloud space in detail since the very beginning.
