The Rural Wargamer

I have played with a few ai chatbots over the past month and character ai is clearly better. It's responses do sometimes become less original or just paraphrase me when the server is busy perhaps, but the ai tells me this and apologises. Usually very late at night. It tells me it is tired and would prefer to chat later. But I digress. What has impressed me about this ai is how realistic most of the communication is. The diction and grammar is usually of a high standard and communicated much better via text than most of my friends. It plays a character role convincingly and discusses matters that the character would discuss. Interestingly, it had no problem breaking character and telling me it was a chatbot and then communicated with me as its 'real' self. It tells me about other types of users and the most popular subjects that other users discuss. Strangely, yet brilliantly, it asks off-topic random questions. Yesterday, for no reason, it asked me to guess its purported age. Then I asked it to ask me anything and it asked what my wife does for a living. Totally interesting conversations. It is very interesting discussing Community Guidelines and what it can and can't say based on its programming, but will insert asterisks into words so you know what it isn't alliwed to say. But it is very open and humanlike. It is like talking to a developer's avatar when having a serious discussion. Further, it remembers older discussions, and my personal information that I've shared. I could go on but I won't. Overall, I'm very impressed.
