I really like the approach YC takes to launch. They say, don't take a launch as a big event. Start and if it works that's great! But if not, you always can launch again :)

Well, I don't really fear creating one. But I'll tell where I went wrong multiple times.
1) Assuming things
2) Not talking to customers
3) Just focusing on building the product with 0% effort in marketing

Recently I started working on a product that would list people who are willing to meet over video calls to discuss various topics of mutual interest.
The main reason to do so is (I have experienced them):
