I think this is an excellent initiative, which I will definitely consider using. I have not seen this approach before...it gives independent feedback from people outside the design/coding ecosystem and startup bubble we can often be trapped in and also frees comment from the subjectivity of actual customers who might be giving objections that mask their real reason for not coming onboard.
