Why a healthy fleet-monitoring feed can show zero new alerts

One easy mistake in public-data monitoring is treating an empty alert table as a failed feed. Baseline coverage and change detection answer different questions.

A healthy result can mean:

- the official source was reached,

- the expected baseline was checked,

FleetStart Radar: turning UK public feeds into actionable fleet signals

FleetStart Radar is live today for West Midlands teams that sell to or schedule work for fleets.

It monitors Traffic Commissioner publications, the CQC directory and DfT Street Manager data, then separates three questions:

- Did an operator or care location change?

- Is the official source healthy even when there is no new alert?

What makes a fleet opportunity signal actionable?

Public records can tell you that an operator applied for a licence, a care location appeared, or roadworks may affect a job. The harder part is deciding what to do next.

For FleetStart Radar I have treated an actionable signal as one that includes the official source and date, why it may matter now, organisation and decision-maker research, a score to reduce noise, notes and pipeline status, and separate roadworks checks against saved jobs.

If you sell vehicles, leasing, maintenance, insurance, telematics or fleet services, what one piece of context would you need before contacting an organisation? I am especially interested in whether timing, location, fleet type or verified contact details matter most.
