Do you want to join/host a Product Hunt Meetup in your city?

I'm working on something fun for Product Hunt Meetups around the world in January 2020. If you'd like to host or join a meetup in your city please fill out this survey which only has three questions so I can start connecting you with other makers close by. Here is the survey. Thanks

What are your 3 most important metrics to track?

I know there will be more than 3 but what are the most important ones for you? Bonus point if you tell me what kind of product are you working on too :)

Describe your ideal customer persona and I'll guess your product!

Hey folks, let's do something fun to make weekdays a little better, describe your customer persona in detail and I'll guess what your product offering is!

How did you grow/find your first group of users to a MVP product you just launched?

I'm a junior product marketer looking for advice. My team and I just launched a service called RoundUp, which is a free Chrome extension made for HR professionals. It's like a memopad that pops open inside Google Meet, where they can fill out candidate reviews once the interview is over - and it automatically links to a Dashboard, where HR folks can see everything in one place. It's got very basic features (so a MVP) and of course there are many things we need to get to. I'm new to doing product marketing and would love some advice from those who's gone through this phase of trying to grow the userbase from a grassroots perspective. What was the best way to get users on your site/product/service at the beginning? Were people willing to give you feedback and advice? (How did you find them?) Would love to hear your stories/kind advice!

What is your biggest learning experience from failure?

Failure presents great opportunities to learn and some might stick with you. Mine would likely be community first, failing to prioritise community building and nurturing caused my first project to dwindle

I’m Marie, my startup just pivoted and rebranded, AMA šŸ”„

I've had a wild ride of a career as an exec in large corporations and as a startup founder. I worked with celebrities in the alcohol industry and on $26 billion worth of M&A deals. Then I built multiple products (some of which are ) as part of my own startup journey. I ve won awards for my comedy writing and was named Product Hunt Maker of the Year in 2019 . Recently I pivoted my business from a document search tool to a product for IT teams to protect company documents from unauthorized access. Also, I like to meditate, burn sage, commune with nature, and collect crystals. I'll be here on 06/10 at 11 am pt to answer any and all questions about startups, pivots, product development, remote work, personal development, transitioning from corporate to startups, writing, the future, and me . Drop your questions below

If you had to start all over again in your startup, what is 1 thing you would do?

Our product is an automated machine learning product. If I had to redo one thing, I would have focussed on web application part from day 1. Instead we focussed on getting data science part right first.

šŸ”„ AMA šŸ”„ - Andrew from MicroAcquire! Startup acquisition marketplace!

Hi everyone, Andrew here from MicroAcquire! Startup acquisition marketplace! MicroAcquire helps startups find buyers. Simple as that. We ll help you start conversations that lead to an acquisition in just 30 days for free. When my company Bizness Apps was acquired in 2018 by a PE firm, it was a bittersweet moment. On the one hand, I d successfully bootstrapped my company to $10m/ARR+ and a life-changing acquisition. On the other, I d sold something that took years of blood, sweat, and tears to build. Do I have any regrets? Far from it. I'm here to answer questions about building your own business, bootstrapping startups, marketing, branding, sales, hiring, startup ideas, acquisitions, and anything else related to startups. I’m Nik, I built a no-code hiring platform from $0 to $80K MRR and achieved 30% MoM. AMA!

I wanted to create products fast and affordable. Several years ago I lost $300K on building a product that never has been released (a platform for managing crypto assets). That s how WeLoveNoCode started. I created a platform to find a no-code developer in one click, share a project and get it developed in weeks, not years and for a very reasonable price. After 6 months of 24/7 work on WeLoveNoCode we achieved super cool growth: $80K MRR 30% MoM profitable from day one and keep growing super happy that WLNC was #1 on Product Hunt. I also closed a seed round recently and might have more cool news soon :) Before WeLoveNoCode, I built 15+ no-code apps myself and went via 500 Startups with another company. My main credo: more work, fewer words. Outside of work I enjoy reading books and working remotely. Excited to share all my experience and help other makers grow! AMA I'd be happy to answer questions on growth, product building, no code, hiring, fundraising, remote work...

What advice would you give to your youngest self?

Makers, we all make mistakes when we work on projects. If there were a time you can go back, what would you change and what advice you give yourself?

Makers, what are you committing to work on this week?

The best way to progress is having public accountability and here's your chance to let fellow makers know what you are up to!
