After traveling the world without insurance and getting hit by a car (yes, really)-my startup was born. Traveling through Istanbul airport, I saw groups of men all bald, all beautifully wrapped with a headband around their red, irritated scalp. I was utterly confused. I remember searching, "Religious cults that shave their heads" thinking it was some religious thing. It wasn't until I went to my hotel & saw buses of medical patients for all sorts of procedures that I realized they were getting hair transplants. They all told me the same thing: It's cheaper than in their home country & they didn't have to wait months to see a specialist. So HealthHop was born. An all-in-one medical tourism site where you can book your medical procedure, hotel, transportation & even sightseeing excursions.
