How did you grow/find your first group of users to a MVP product you just launched?

I'm a junior product marketer looking for advice. My team and I just launched a service called RoundUp, which is a free Chrome extension made for HR professionals. It's like a memopad that pops open inside Google Meet, where they can fill out candidate reviews once the interview is over - and it automatically links to a Dashboard, where HR folks can see everything in one place. It's got very basic features (so a MVP) and of course there are many things we need to get to. I'm new to doing product marketing and would love some advice from those who's gone through this phase of trying to grow the userbase from a grassroots perspective. What was the best way to get users on your site/product/service at the beginning? Were people willing to give you feedback and advice? (How did you find them?) Would love to hear your stories/kind advice!

Do you blog?

Simple question - as part of your marketing strategy, personal branding, or just maybe some thoughts on paper kind of deal. Would love to hear people who blog and the reasons why Also perhaps a bonus - maybe how you grew your blog if you managed to do so? For me personally, I managed to grow on Medium but it did take some time!

What does entrepreneur/entrepreneurship mean to you?

To me, entrepreneur is who has the ability to discover and create, while bearing the risk of earning a non-fixed income. Let me know your thoughts!

How do you keep your laptop cool during Summer?

Hey there! I need your help: my MacBook pro was used to a very tempered climate (aka weather) but I recently moved to a warmer region and it's clear that my laptop is not enjoying it at all. How do you keep your laptop from turning into a helicopter on fire? All recommendations welcomed (except the ones suggesting a new laptop ) Thank you!

What browser do you use?

I recently switch from Chrome to Edge, because I got tired of my laptop sounding like it was about to blast off into space. It seemed like a lot of folks enjoyed Edge so I decided to give it a shot. So far, I've been pleased with it. Just curious what others are using.

I’m Janel, I created Newsletter Operating System, AMA 🔥

I'm a maker, marketer, writer and community builder, and a huge fan of the creator economy. I'm obsessed with newsletters and am addicted to creating new things & optimizing operational workflows using no-code tools. I started writing a newsletter, BrainPint last year and tumbled into a newsletter rabbit hole, which led me to create Newsletter Operating System, an all-in-one resource for newsletter writers built on Notion. It has helped more than 1,100 newsletter writers start, grow, organize and earn from their newsletters. I pivoted from corporate life to tech and am currently the Program Manager at On Deck s No-Code Fellowship. I m surrounded by amazing builders who play positive-sum games and am so thankful for that! I love to learn, curate, write and build things, in addition to social dancing, travel (hopefully I can get back to that!), and trivia. I'll be here on 5th August at 9AM PST / 6PM CET to answer any questions about newsletters, Notion, no-code, info products, building in public, curation, the creator economy and even how to break into tech! Basically, ask me anything. Drop your questions below

Suggest tools to manage multiple email addresses & social DMs 📨📧📩

I have 5-6 personal email addresses and want to streamline the whole process by collecting and responding from one place. Please suggest tools/ways/methods to simplify the whole process and increase productivity :) It would be great if social DMs (Facebook, Twitter, IG) etc could also be handled from the same place. In short, Intercom/Front/Drift like tool but for personal use

What is the explicit traction goal you are working towards?

Hey, makers! I keep reading the Traction book by Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares, and it says we should always have an explicit TRACTION GOAL we re working toward. This could be 1K paying customers, 100 new daily customers, or 10% of our market. They write this should be a goal where we hit the mark would change things significantly for our project s outcome. We've hit 100 subscribers on the waiting list a few days ago, and I'm trying to set the next traction goal for Getlanding.io. I think it should be 50 initial users who have tried our product. What do you think about that, and what's your traction goal now?

For what problem would you like to get a practical guide?

You have a challenge. You want to solve it as soon as possible, but you don't know how to. You need a clear guide. What kind of guide would that be?
