About

I created Scoop Socials to enable real people to have real, safe interactions from online to in person. This platform allows people to consolidate already public knowledge into one account so that if you want to verify that another person is real, it's only one tap away. Our social presence is mostly public, so we can take that information and make your identity stronger than the sum of its parts.

Verification shouldn't be a $8/month checkmark — so I built something that actually proves ownership

Most "verification" online isn't real verification. A blue checkmark you can buy for $8/month. A link-in-bio page where you just type a URL and hope people believe it's yours. None of it actually proves you own the account you're claiming.

I built Scoop to fix that.

  • Connect/Log the accounts you already use (Google, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) through secure sign-in ownership is cryptographically verified, not just typed in

  • Add any other profile you want to log, including platforms that aren't officially supported with secure sign-in

  • Every event you attend, Journey you join, and review you leave is tied back to that verified profile no anonymous accounts hiding behind the interaction, which deepens your validity

  • Hosts creating events can see verified RSVPs before anyone shows up at the door and cross verfiy the users accounts when they show up

It's live on iOS now, and I'm launching publicly on Product Hunt tomorrow.

Hey everyone, I'm Grant — founder of Scoop Socials

I had a problem I was set on solving: bots and fraud are rampant online, and they ruin so much of the experience of interacting with people. A fake or bot account has no real identity behind it, but it can still do a lot of damage scam someone, catfish someone, ruin an event, all with almost no effort. I wanted to give people an easy way to gate out bad actors using information that's already public, and to feel more confident that the person they're meeting is actually who their profile says they are.

So I built Scoop. It lets you connect the accounts you already have through secure sign-in (so ownership is actually verified, not just typed in), add any other platform you want to show, and then use that verified profile for local events, planning a night out with friends, and leaving real reviews about people you've met making it a lot harder for someone to hide behind a fake screen and hurt someone's day, or worse.

It's live on iOS now, and I'm launching publicly on Product Hunt tomorrow.

Would love to hear how you could see Scoop playing a role in your own life especially from anyone here who's dealt with identity or trust problems online:
