When should transaction history become reputation?

I ve been thinking about this while working on a product involving transactions between people who may not know each other.

A seller can complete 30 successful transactions, but the next customer may still know almost nothing about that history.

The obvious answer is to show completed transactions, ratings or reviews.

But that creates another problem.

How do you turn technical skill into business value?

One thing I think engineers learn later than they should: Being technically strong is not the same as being valuable to the business. You can build APIs, design databases, improve architecture, and write clean code. But eventually someone has to connect that work to: - revenue, - cost, - risk, - speed, - reliability, - or customer experience. I ve been thinking more about this lately because writing the code is becoming less of the differentiator. The harder skill is understanding why the thing should be built, what tradeoff you re making, and what outcome the business actually cares about. For engineers here: What helped you get better at connecting technical decisions to business impact?
