As an active seller on Fiverr, I see it as a double-edged sword.
On the one hand, it's an unbeatable platform for reaching a global client base. Setting up gigs is easy, and the secure payment system is a huge plus. It's fantastic for getting started in freelancing and growing your portfolio, especially with the clear progression path through seller levels. The option to promote gigs can also significantly boost visibility.
However, the downsides are real: fierce competition often drives prices down, and Fiverr's 20% commission on every sale eats into profits. There's also pressure to be constantly online for quick responses, and dealing with occasional demanding clients can be challenging.
My advice? Niche down, optimize your gigs, and focus on delivering excellent service to stand out. While it has its frustrations, Fiverr remains a valuable marketplace for freelancers willing to navigate its competitive landscape.
