This extension is one of those rare finds that seems incredibly simple on the surface but has a profound impact on your daily workflow and mental state.

So, if you're a developer, data scientist, artist, or really anyone who spends a time waiting for AI to do stuff (like literally anything we ask it to do, from generating an image to making an essay), you need to install the AI Waiting Companion immediately!

How often have you, too, been frustrated– you're in the zone – you're thinking 2 things at once and you've tasked AI to do something. You go to another tab. You come back... it's still "thinking." You stare at a spinning wheel or a progress bar creeping along at 99%, feeling a mix of impatience?

The AI Waiting Companion makes it a bit better!

When I feel that familiar restlessness creeping back into my psyche, I click the icon: instantly, I’m greeted with a simple, clean popup that does two things:

1) it gives me a message—sometimes a mindful reminder to breathe, sometimes a funny quip about the AI taking a coffee break ("The AI is currently trying to fold a fitted sheet" 🤣), and sometimes a genuinely touching acknowledgment of the shared experience.

But there is something magical seeing how many times others around the world have also signaled they are waiting in the last hour, day, week, etc...

Just seeing that "shared moments of waiting" in the last hour alone instantly redirects my restlessness to something funny or perhaps even a bit insightful.

It’s a reminder that I’m not just sitting alone in my office; I'm part of a global community of creators and thinkers, all waiting for the future to buffer, lol.

It’s cool because it doesn't try to speed up the process—it changes how you perceive the wait. It turns frustration into connection.

The design is clean, the implementation is privacy-focused (completely anonymous!), and the concept is deeply empathetic. This isn't just a utility; it's a little piece of digital solidarity.

NOTE -- I am biased because I created this app.

In this section, I'm supposed to write what can be improved about the product. I think it is perfect, though. So, there.

There is a gaping maw, an abyss -- nothing like this has existed. Look at what Google had to say about this! Covering up this app's existence? Makes sense that "AI Mode" doesn't want you to know that there's an app that shows that people are all frustrated and waiting for AI to finish stuff for them!

I let Google know it's wrong, and, that there is an app that fills this unimaginable void in our digital ecosystem!! ANd, Google even conceeded that it was wrong (something Google almost never does!)

Nope, this is totally free to use and no personal information is collected whatsoever. We just increment the number of clicks.
