Arc
At first I just switched to Arc because it gave me more screen space on my 14" MacBook, but I don't think I will be switching to another browser as Arc simply provides so many QoL features like tidying my tabs, using cmd F to search on a site with AI, or auto-archiving of tabs, which I have not seen present in other browsers all at once and don't think I would enjoy not being able to use anymore.

What's great

tab management (28)AI features (9)productivity features (19)
One of my favourite ways to use generative AI for development as it easily integrates with IDEs and lets me use RAG without any complications.
Great free calendar application, however I do not see clear benefits towards other applications, especially the great native Mac Calendar-App. Combined with it only supporting Google Calendar, it is a great app but does seem to not have an upper hand over other, also free of charge, applications.

What needs improvement

Mimestream
Great alternative to the native Mac "Mail"-App for users of Gmail with native integration, that doesn't mess up your folders, tags, or aliases. I see benefits right now that it is free to use in beta, but I'm unsure if I will continue to use it, should they make it a subscription model, rather than a one-time purchase.

Obsidian
Great alternative to other note- or "PKM"-apps. Obsidian works with Markdown files in local storage, making it easy to use sync tools you already use. What makes Obsidian truly great, is the plugin system which allows developers to create truly custom experiences. You can work with your Obsidian notes like in any other app, but using third party or even included plugins, you can make it your own personal second brain with back-linking, daily notes, a dashboard, tasks, and so much more. This means that it requires a lot of up-front customisation to get it to look and work as well as other more "out of the box" apps. However, I personally feel like Obsidian, in comparison to these other apps, after configuration works a lot better with my personal workflow, as I can customise it in a way that works the best for me.
