Rami Beracha is an Israeli venture capitalist and general partner at Eden Block, a London-based global investment firm focused on foundational infrastructure for the new Open Internet. Born in Tel Aviv in 1961, he enlisted in the Israeli Defense Forces in 1980 and served in the Paratroopers Brigade, Battalion 890. During the first Lebanon War, he fought in the eastern sector as part of an infantry cadet battalion. After the war, he completed his combat officers’ course with the highest distinction, ranking first among 250 special forces cadets. He then returned to his unit as a platoon commander in August 1982. In 1983, while stationed in the Ein Zhalta area in the Shouf Mountains of Lebanon, he was involved in an operational mission under the command of his battalion leader.
