I spent a few months living at the Williamsburg House, and while it had its positives, there were some mixed experiences. The location was one of the best things about it—right near the Bedford Ave subway, making my commute to Manhattan less than 10 minutes. McCarren Park being so close was a huge plus for me, giving me a great place to unwind.
That said, the apartment itself felt a bit cramped, especially in the kitchen. With so many roommates trying to cook at the same time, it could get a little chaotic. Also, the cleaning service was pretty inconsistent — sometimes things were spotless, other times not so much. Once you get used to managing those small frustrations, though, it becomes more manageable.
As someone who's been a big proponent of coliving for a few years, I do think it’s a fantastic concept in general. Coliving gives you access to a community, some shared luxuries, and the opportunity to meet new people. I still believe it's the future of urban living, even though many people are hesitant about the lifestyle change that comes with it. Overall, Williamsburg House wasn’t perfect, but it was a solid experience with the right mindset.
