What's great

fast performance (4)consistent updates (4)time saving (10)beginner friendly (4)workflow improvement (6)chapter detection (3)

I found myself looking at a dozen different ai automatic editing tools, but Firecut came out on top from what I can tell. I was able to get started using it, and even after a few tries I can definitely see how it will improve my workflow.

It won't replace fully editing the piece, but it will help expedite things like finding the highlights for the reel at the front of a podcast interview for example (one of the most tedious parts of editing). It will also help me enhance the visual design of the shows.

What needs improvement

A bit simpler installation, part of this is due to python, but that would help give it a wider reach of people.

The pause removal needs a bit more fine tuning, but I already told the team and I'm sure they're adding things left and right. Full steam ahead that crew over there!

vs Alternatives

More feature choices, better marketing, and strong team.

A great way to taking your episode farther every time!
Capacities
It is still in the early stages, and they are working on the import feature again. I can't really use it until that point. However after using notion and obsidian for so long, I think this is a real bridge between them. <3

Over the last many years I've struggled to find an SMM tool that could do the things I wanted. Back in the day it was instagram support, and now it is supporting tiktoks/reels/shorts. You get the idea. I was trying to decide between Nuelink and Publer, both great tools, when I came across this Appsumo deal. Vistasocial seemed to have the tiktok/reels/shorts feature down, particularly being able to bulk upload. And the other feature I wanted, rss automation, it has a very rudimentary version. Though that was better than I expected, a surprise even. However as I used the tool I was constantly slowed down by all of the metawork it took to GET to the posts themselves. The UI lead to too many clicks to get to where you wanted, and didn't always display the the right information. I needed queues or at least a labels feature, in order to organized my vast content campaigns (I have over 1000 tiktoks ready to go out). Now here is where things get weird. Despite having a tier 2, PRO, level plan I did not have access to labels. Which is a feature so basic that most SMM tools have it as a basic level feature. Okay not a huge deal I'll just use their "queues" feature instead. I struggled to deal with UI, but I managed to get to show the proper queue for the right profiles. Given that I had difficulty, as it kept showing the wrong queue when I pulled up the page (giving me a mini heart attack at first). I thought I'd be a good user and email them with the feedback. In response they downplayed the UI issue, and even exclaimed that I wasn't supposed to have that feature or labels, and that I sort of cheated my way around. hardy har har I would have laughed, if they didn't tell me that this crucial feature would then be patched out soon, and that I wouldn't be able to do the very thing that I needed from them in the first place. When I tried responding and asking for clarification, they have yet to respond. I even sent another email just to give them a chance to help me out. Nope. To be fair I did get a bit angry, but that was because I was so dumbstruck about all of it. Don't go with them, go with Missinglettr, Buffer, Publer, Repurpose, Nuelink, anything else.
