We are a small team, and PingLocate is the tool we went looking for and could not find. Location sharing asks too much of both people today: an app to install and keep running, the same phone brand on both sides, or a subscription that arrives attached to a family plan. The other half of the market lies, promising to trace any number on a map when a phone number carries no location at all. PingLocate asks for a number instead. We text a link, the other person taps it, and their location opens on a map. They decline by not tapping. We build it, run it, and answer the people who write to us, and we publish the limits, tens of meters with GPS and city level without it, because a tool families use to check in on each other has to be honest about what it knows.
